grady trimble with the very latest from there. hey, grady. lot developing right now. we know three people were shot last night. two of them killed. we have just learned that a 17-year-old has been charged with first degree murder in at least one of those killings last night. again, he is being charged with first degree murder. we believe as an adult. he was arrested in antioch, illinois, about 20 miles from where we are. this is an auto sales lot where you can see rioters smashed in car windows, even burned one car. it's also where the shootings happened last night. it was a very violent scene as men with long guns were in the area and that is who at this point we believe among them was this 17-year-old who has been arrested. that's some graphic video shot by our overnight crew last night. we want to go to a full screen now from the kenosha county board which sent a letter to governor tony evers just this morning saying our county is under attack, our businesses are under attack, our local law enforcement agencies need additional support to h

grady trimble is there. tell me about the damage, grady. edge is an understatement this came from seemingly out of nowhere. this is a macy's on the magnificent mile. that iconic stretch of retail here in chicago. they targeted handbags and other items. particularly they targeted cash registers. this is one of many locations. in some senses it feels like deja vu. a lot of same types of stores were hit. retail locations on the mag mile and liquor stores. in many cases the same exact businesses hit last time were hit this time. the police superintendent here in chicago, over 100 people were arrested. 13 police officers were injured as what he described as a very organized process. listen. >> this was not an organized protest. rather this was an incident of pure criminality. this was an act of violence against our police officers and against our city. reporter: there are many police officers here on the mag mile and the loop, the business district of the city. they plan to stay here throughout the day to make sure this area remains safe. they a

grady trimble in chicago with more.eil, this morning and this afternoon in chicago, the streets are filled with people looking in awe at the damage caused overnight by those looters as well as businesses once again boarding up. and in many respects, this is deja vu to what happened just about two months ago when there was widespread looting in the city. but the difference this time around is that this looting was not preceded by a protest or large gathering. instead, police say there was an officer-involved shooting on the south side of town, where police were shot at by a suspect and they returned fire. in response to that, there were reports on social media of people calling to go to the business district and the shopping district here downtown and start looting, and that's exactly what police say happened. they got into their cars and caravanned to the downtown area and caused widespread damage to the retail spaces, the famous stores like macy's as well as liquor stores, pharmacies, many of the same stores that were
