then their family moved back out to the grandview farm in 1906. this is a photo of the truman farm home, which still exists. and you can visit it. this is what we know as the truman home today. her family moved in there with her grandparents in 1904 after her fau father died and she attended barstow -- how many people are local? yes. barstow back then was considered a kind of a finishing school. it wasn't the kind of school we think of now. bess went there. many of the girls that she went to school with were planning to move on to college. many of them were going to go to some of the seven sisters schools on the east coast like basser and radcliffe and thing like that. sadly, bess couldn't do that because her family couldn't afford it. how many of you know the story of truman and the cake plate? it is a family legend. truman visited his cousins mary and nellie, who lived across the street from bess and her family at the gates house. they lived at 216 north del mayor, and the gates home was at 219 north delaware. harry had a good relationship with
