grant park. there are a million people. we're backstage and my mom, who was 92 years old, who really liked barack, liked the president, she is standing back with us and they said, now ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the united states, barack obama and the next vice president joe biden. there was a picture of my mom reaching out and grabbing barack's hand, and he's kind of looking at her funny in the picture. and she's saying, it's going to be okay, honey. come with me. and so my mother gets up and walks us both out on stage. i mean, and barack just looked like, okay. here we go. but the key has been that we have a great trust in one another and our staffs are most of -- at least half of barack's -- the president's staff were my former staff members. and so -- but it rests on one thing, defining what it is you want to do and determining whether or not the president elect agrees with you. he asked me, do i have any conditions? what portfolio do i want? because i talked to fritz, i said, mr. president, i don't want any portfolio.
