we have developed a 3 prong approach to supporting our grantees. and that's to do fiscal oversight in which our grantees receive a visit from us to assess their problematic quality and we do joint monitoring around physical health. we provided capacity building. so when our program manager so out in the field and they identify some weaknessesness we bring in a program crouch so increase the quality of their program. we have several workshops we send our agencies to attend some are administered by controllers officer. and 15 we do data and evaluation we want to make sure we're constantly learning from the field and we want to make sure we're asking all the right questions to get to the outcome. it's - to me it's a process we need to check. so in conclusion we very happy that the property tax revenue is continuing to grow and the children programs are growing along with it. we're still working with the controllers office to know what the children's projections are. the revenue will help the department to meet the revenue challenges. and we're existed

focus in doing planning around summer which has been a peek in term of violent activity so those grantees and or partners at dph and probation, we've been working together to make sure we have a smooth summer this coming summer. the next your is trying to foster summer providers to think about quality. and to end hans their quality. one of the things we've worked on in the couple of years is a summer larning network is a coalition of workers across the city and has more than one hundred members and it's to share ideas and resources and things that can help programs improve their program quality. there's newsletters and meetings and the group puts together and plans two city wide training days for staff of any in the city and there's a fair where folks from different city agencies and cultural institutions come and talk about how they can bring students to their sites or field trips and the types of programs they he have, the library is there promoting their summer reading program, so it's a network of folks trying to expand for the low income family. the after school for all group creates

and one group i belong to is a recipient of that grantee. and tonight i am here to talk about another community project. it regards greater activation of mcclair park, the city's second largest park, and encompasses district 9, 10 and 11. but usually on the low end of funding with the city. i have been working with the rec and park division and many divisions within rec and park, to bring more activities to mcclarin park, and one is to activate the community theater and work with the police patrol and citizens to create supervision and added security for the park to add events for the public at low fees. we are excited about this project, but funding of course in this situation is also in need. we hopeful that the three supervisors that surround the park will provide for more funding from the park and to bring these programs. lastly i would like to say that our parks are very dear to all citizens of san francisco. and in the southeast part of san francisco, we suffer from lack of funding, and urge that full funding for rec and park departmen
