about and joining the companies that help me to create jobs and also create the future of this great city. you can also be able to help me do a lot of cleaning up in the south market and tenderloin. that's the great spirit of having the employees here in downtown and part of a great exciting evolving city of san francisco. today we are here to make a very strategic announcement. an announcement that not only benefits our two great cities but suggest that we can contribute to the whole cultural movement of this country by having a digital summit, if you will, that we saw last october that mayor bloomberg brought many of us to new york to participate in the first technology summit. bloomberg's philanthropy sponsored and we learned a lot and saw some very good examples that we thought it would be wonderful for our two cities, bloomberg philanthropy and what us both as mayor's do which is bring our experience to each other and offer an opportunity for other mayor's to join us in a great summit. in september 30th, of this year, we'll be in new york to kickoff the first two planned summit meeti

city. so, all of that in the context of a great anniversary, 150 years, there is going to be throughout thisies to be told about what this 150 years means to our city, because, there is a lot of generations of people who came to this city, many, many years, built communities, built their small business and their livelihood and hopes and helped us to establish the fisherman's wharf and help us to establish all of the maritime that they have created life times of reasons of why people want to continue visiting our city and we need to acknowledge all of that history. and all of it has not been easy, there have been difficult things and we have had fights over what is proper, and what is not proper, but we have always had in our sites in all of these different struggles, the success of our city, the golden gate bridge and the hope that it brings to many generations of immigrants that is what our city is built on and the honor that we have with all of our labor partners who also jimmy herman and the cruise ship terminal that they are honoring and built it through years of generations of struggle

front of your class who will be graduating with you, thank you for being a great example to your fellow classmates and to our city's youth and i hope that kayla your senior class president and david your student body president as well as the entire lowell graduating class of 2013 become the great community and civic leaders of san francisco future. because of being your mayor, i think that the people of the city every day for the opportunity to serve san francisco. it is a privilege to wake up each morning and to work for you, a people the our city and to do everything that i can to help all of us be successful. and as your graduation day is a day when you set off on a path to success you will use what you learned at lowell to tackle the great challenges next in your life, to make the differences in your world and the impact in the lives of your peers, family, your friends, and your community. looking back at my graduation day in high school, i remember feeling excited, scared, nervous, and inspired to make a difference in the world and just like you my journey started on this very important day, graduation day. an
