it's a great city to walk around and be in. however, we we have a problem and the problem is people are getting killed in our streets and that shouldn't be happening pr it's unacceptable people are getting killed my seriously injured it's traefblg not only for the families especially for the families to whom it happens but for our whole city but the good news is it's preventable every one of those dedicates and serious injuries is preventable. the good news behind that is that we have great leadership in the city as manifested by the strong and power showing of folks behind me that are focused and committed and dedicated to preventing those serious collisions and fatality collisions so we get the benefits of our beautiful walkable city without worrying about getting hurt or killed. at the top of that primer is our chief collective who has brought people together to solve problems. i think what we're going to talk about today is the epitomize any so it's my enclosure to welcome to the mike mayor ed lee. and the desire for the people have options to make choices that abstract to san francisco being a great city. the board adapted 4 goals as part of the strategic plan that's broiven the work of the agency its about safety this is the first time goal because safety of the transportation system is the most important thing no matter what else we do to try to help people move around the city but safely whether they're on foot or driving a bus or car we want people to be able to get around the city safely. the second goal is really meant to be an actualtion of the cities first policy which was adapted by the board of supervisors in 1973 in the chapter and our responsibility to really make transit biking and walking and other sustainable modes of transportation attractive and better options. the third goal reflects the roll that the transportation system plays in the economic and quality of life and 2r0ib8g to the nodes of our agency that we recognize to support and empower the workforce so people are motivated and can achieve their goals. that's the framework in which we're managing the agency and

importance of being not only upstanding students at usf, but also great member of the community and this great city. we have an off campus annual housing fair to educate students about being great neighbors and it is highly intended. we created response protocol specifically for neighbors to share success stories and complaints and concerns if they have them. accountability is something we pride our self-at usf. i am charged with the difficult and necessary task of conduct meeting with our students should they violate our conduct policies off campus. we've even created a policy for off campus behavior called the community relations policy. you heard that correctly. we as a private institution hold our students accountable for behavior off campus. something many schools do not do, especially the ones that have been named today. failure to abide by these policies can result in sanctions, punitive sanctions with heavy fines, such as probation, suspension and expulsion. from a small complaint or a large field issue, the university along with the diligent help of our great neighbors have worked expediti
