park. on tuesday -- including the one in greenfield. it was one of the darkest days in american history. sunday marks the 15-year anniversary of the september 11th terror attacks. to honor the victims -- crews put up american flags on the bridges over the milwaukee river. nearly 3-thousand people were killed in new york city, washington, dc and near shanksville, pennsylvania. the blood center, doing its part to commemorate the anniversary as well. they're honoring those who were lost and those who rose to serve -- like first respode special 9/11 commemorative blood drive today. first responders manned the phones -- and they were busy. while many people called to thank first responders and make appointments to donate blood. others came in to give blood-- just like many of them did 15 years ago.
