a cab jumped a curb in greenwich village and hit a woman. this happened in the area of east 8th street and university place. >> reporter: sibila, we've just heard the victim, a 32-year-old woman is in critical condition. she was here on the sidewalk when she was struck by that cab. it jumped the curb, pinned her underneath, right in front of a crowd of witnesses around 11:00 a.m. this morning right in front of a residence hall at the nyu campus. it's still not clear why the cab jumped the curb. the victim is fighting for her life right now. the cab driver did stay on the scene. one witness told us the cab driver turned the wrong way down this one-way street and panic panicked. >> when he realized that he panicked and ran up onto the sidewalk. that's when he hit the lady. very terrible to see the lady underneath the car. ticketed or arrested the cab driver. they're still investigating. i did reach out to the city's taxi and limousine commission. they tell me at this point they are not going to comment as this is still an active investigation.

cool across long island, 51, same thing for fairfield, 53 in west port, greenwich at 55. temperatures are in the 40s at the jersey shore, just below 50 from long branch. it's actually warmer north of the city in wapen jer's falls. but then you start to see cooler readings when you get to high point in the 40s. rain showers over towards monroe moving east through orange this is steady rain falling there just crossing 287. but it looks like for the rest of us it's lighter rain. not going to get much heavier than what we see right now. there are bigger storms to our south over the virginias and down through north carolina but those will stay to the south of us. in the meantime, this evening is just areas of light rain showers that will continue on and off through the rest of the evening. temperatures will cool through the 40s. we'll stay in the 40s the rest of tonight. but we don't climb too far from there for tomorrow. it's going to be a chilly day tomorrow across the area. more rain, especially late in the day and highs in the 50s once again with rots of clouds. long. no b

you can see snow to the north and you can see the greenwich indicates rain to the south. current temperatures right now, mainly in the 30s just about every where but we're seeing a down tick in mount holly at 29 degrees. 31 degrees in atlantic city. 33 there in millville. temperatures hovering in and around the freezing mark. a little warmer in philadelphia and wilmington, in the upper 30s. but as the system gets closer temperatures may drop just a bit. we can expect rain and snow showers across the entire region today. it's looking like right now the way the system is setting up that we'll see small or light accumulation just north and west of philadelphia. slushy mix in the city. and then all rain south and east. expect those winds to be picking up later on this afternoon. have a wind switch out of the northwest, 25 to 30 miles per hour with wind gusts of up to about, that should say 35 miles per hour. so we'll keep a check on the within for you. i'll be back with more details and when the system can get out of here. >>> we'll update the changing weather conditions thro
