the video you are looking at now was taken by greg cook. he used his phone. he is a resident here. firefighters tried to get the fire under control, first of all looking for people inside. they did find one person, an elderly person in her 80's. when they got to her, she had already passed away. >> the flames moved over the house so fast. there was nothing anybody could do. by the time the fire department got here, the whole front of the porch was engulfed. they tried and tried, but they did not succeed. >> firefighters are still on the scene here. they are combing the area, trying to determine the cause of the fire. we are told by fire fighters there was at least one working smoke alarm inside the home, but once again, and the 84-year-old lady did not get out alive. residents are telling me they knew the victim. she was known in the community and she worked in the baltimore city school system for a number of years. she retired some time ago. firefighting officials have not release the name of the victim yet. we will have more on this coming up to nine of 5:00. >> -- tonight at 5:0
