my colleague greg dawson is the reporter, who is following the story with me.ures of blue lights from emergency services on london bridge. a lot of reports that we cannot corroborate on social media, we will stick to what we know. a busy time of night in central london for this to have unfolded, reminiscent of what happened on westminster bridge in the middle of the day? it is a hugely popular part of central london, a popular destination for people on a saturday night. it is by one of london's biggest train stations with several pubs and restau ra nts stations with several pubs and restaurants in the area. we know just after ten o'clock, we began to get reports of eyewitnesses saying a white van, hitting pedestrians on london bridge. eyewitnesses have reported seeing several people injured on the pavement. we know london ambulance service have said they have deployed a number of ambulances to the area. metropolitan police have said multiple resources are attending a serious incident, and stressing for people to avoid the area at the moment. clearly this is all

with me is our reporter, greg dawson. he has been with me for some time keeping an eye on things.ervice issued a statement. they say they are tending to the incidence. they have sent first response to the scene with the first response to the scene with the first responders arriving in six minutes. and advanced trauma teams have been dispatched biker. they are working closely with other services to get people to safety and make sure they get the medical safety they need. there initial priority is to assess the level and nature of the injuries and ensure those people most in need are taken to hospital and treated. we are not sure where they have been taken to yet. there area number of they have been taken to yet. there are a number of hospitals in that nearby area in central london. they will be many hospitals on alert, clearly, waiting for casualties to arrive. we don't know the nature of the injuries, how many are injured at this point. but this statement from the london ambulance service given out ten minutes ago are just detailing the resources deployed at that area in this ongo

my colleague greg dawson is the reporter sitting here patiently with me in the studio trying to pieceether steadily what's been happening over the last couple of hours. what have you been watching on the wires, greg? what's probably the most significant development in the last 20 minutes is the reopening of vauxhall station, which is a little way away from the incident at london bridge and the incident at borough market. clearly if police and transport for london had concerns about the station early in the evening, they are now sufficiently confident it is fine to reopen the station. it's on the victoria line, it runs 2a hours on the weekend, many people will be wanting to get home. it relates to the metropolitan police saying they are attending an incident in vauxhall and connecting it to both what was happening in borough and london bridge. for now it appears at least the public transport in that area is back open again. it seems the focus on most of the activity as far as we the focus on most of the activity as faras we can the focus on most of the activity as far as we can tell is

i'm joined in the studio by greg dawson, who is one of our reporters who has been following this story last hour and a half with me. greg, let's start from the beginning, we're looking at london bridge, this is the first incident police and emergency services were called to, it's all been cordoned off, blue flashing lights. the reform, first report we got were around 10:30pm on a saturday night ina around 10:30pm on a saturday night in a packed area of london just by london bridge station. we heard reports of a white van mounting the pavement and hitting pedestrians, an eyewitness report saying at least five or six people were struck by the van. a little while after we then got reports of incidents at borough market, which is filled with pubs at that time on a saturday night, which would have been very busy, many restaurants and police have since confirmed they were also attending an incident there. what's important to stress is borough market is very close to london bridge, you can walk within 30 seconds and be at borough market, so very close incidents. in the last ten minutes or so
