gregg: i'm gregg jarrett in for bill hemmer. there are americans staying in that hotel. some of the hostages from china and france. the attackers freed hostages, but only those who could recite verses from the quran. weep just learned that we are going to have to use our fingers on hostages. there are still 124 guests and 13 staff trapped inside as hostages. they are telling us -- gregg palkot is tells us the u.s. military told him there are u.s. people inside the hotel. what's hang is an hour and a half ago mali special forces starting clearing the hotel floor by floor. a further 20 hostages were released earlier by the gunmen themselves just as long as they could reef cite the quran, they could get out of there. about 131 hostages still left inside the hotel, folks, on the 7th floor. this includes some french people. also some indians, chinese and a few turkish people. there is a strong radical islamic presence in mali which some link to al qaeda. these radicals were pushed out of northern mali by the french military. since th
