you can see the gridlock that is taking place. there are still parts of k street closed. every building down 19th and 20th streets were blocked off since 12:30 this morning. on theds of people sidewalk, trying to get into offices, but were turned away. if you were not blocked from your office, chances are, you were stuck in traffic. around 12: 20 this morning. police responded to a call of a woman in crisis. when they arrived, she fired a gun. no one was injured. it took 11 hours to get her into custody. we spoke to residents and people who work here. they have never seen a response like this from police in the history of them living or working here. >> i came out of farragut west to see masses of people standing around. a heavy police presence. there was a lot of confusion. we are all stuck here. >> i said i was going to go in and see what happens. there is no going in. i had to tell the team not to come in. sam: some people had smiles, others were frustrated, saying they were missing work and meetings. the good news out of this, no one reported injured. reporting live,
