griff jenkins joins us in mexico city where migrants are considering illegally crossing into the us. a pretty significant development when the new mexican president came into office he wanted a new policy towards these migrants respecting their human rights. they are having to end the fast track program after 12,600 people took the generous offer for temporary asylum and work visa. no longer offering it on the southern border. in mexico city behind me, there's 2825 migrants, you see the gates closed behind me. and the migrants were told about buses being provided by the mexico city government that will take them to and a half hours north of here to town. that is on the same path of the previous caravans headed towards tijuana, and to nicaragua fleeing the apprentice regime, daniel ortega for which the trump administration announcing sanctions against petroleum country. he wants to get to the us to claim asylum. here's what he told us about how he is going to do it. >> to still claim asylum. >> that is the way we want to do it. and waiting for this. >> reporter: a case to make about t

griff jenkins brings us pictures from mexico city. the migrants are lining up. hey, griff.ir way on to them. and then just a little while ago, about five minutes ago, we had a situation where there were so many jamming the doorway, that they wouldn't get off. they rode about quarter mile down the road, clinging to the doorway, trying to get on the bus. now this is the 2312 officials say that were in the stadium. they were told yesterday they will be able to get a bus 2 1/2 hours north of here to go to carotoq, on traditional path to tijuana or up to the u.s. border. but comes on heels of the news, that the new low president obrador mexican government has ended one year temporary asylum and work visa program because it is simply had too many takers. they capped it at 12,600. if you look, these migrants here, they are waiting to get on the bus to continue to make their way north. as we've been reporting from the beginning, because we've been talking to so many migrants their final destination is the united states. most of them fully aware that they won't qualify for asylum in
