griffin: we have thousands of assets that we have to keep track of. we have to always know their condition and continuously plan for their refurbishment at the right time. one of the things we're required to do under the consent decree is inspect our system. we're trying to find where there's leaks. so we blow smoke into the sewer pipe. man: we're locating places where water from the surface to the ground is running into the sewer pipe and overloading the system. hunter: we have 1,600 miles of sewer. we are evaluating every linear foot of that system. is the pipe leaking; are you having a lot of infiltration or inflow? thornell: every time it rains, water will come down, go into the pipe, enter the sewer system. it's very easy to repair this defect and get all that water out of the system. griffin: with our closed-circuit tv inspection, we record cracks, holes, pipes that are partially collapsed. hunter: we literally will have a digital video of every foot of our sewer that in the future, we can go back and do a comparison. what's changed? is it degra

our national security correspondent jennifer griffin at the pentagon tonight.ow about the president's condition here. president saleh? >> we know it's a lot worse than first reported. the burns are essentially on his head, face, and neck, as well as his chest. it's a little under half of his body was burned in the attack. we understand that the attack was the result of a rocket as well as a bomb that exploded inside the mosque at the presidential compound. he reportedly has some swelling on the brain. he has undergone a series of operations in saudi arabia. first the vice president said he would be back in a matter of days inside yemen. that doesn't look like that's going to be the case, shep. >> shepard: there is enormous power struggle going on there how is this effecting that. >> what is happening is there is more violence breaking out in the southern part of the country. in particular the government forces claim to have killed 30 islamic radicals in the southern town and they also called in air strikes on that area taken over by islamic radicals and sympath

griffin: thank you, mr. chairman. i rose today in strong support of h.r. 1249, the america invents act, and i urning my colleagues to support it. make no mistake, the america invents act is a jobs bill. at no cot to taxpayers, this legislation builds on what we as americans do best. we innovate. bolstering american innovation will create jobs at a time when we need it most. the american invents act ends speed diversion and switches the u.s. to a first inventor to file system. these changes will streamline the patent application process to help american innovators bring their intentions so market. each new commercialized intention has the potential to cate american jobs. this is a jobs bill. a provision that i worked on included in the bill would make permanent the patent trademark office's ombudsman program for small businesses concerns. this program will provide support and services for independent inventors who may not have the resources to obtain legal council f guidance on obtaining a patent. this provision ensure
