city of san francisco. it has ever since. every summer the stern grove association in san francisco rec and parks put on 10 free concerts. usually people come out at 10 in the morning it's a family affair. everybody is on the lawn with picnics and it's free. anybody can come out. it's a great way to spend a sunday. >> goes to 1-2 in the afternoon and runs until 5. [music]. thanks to the stern grove association they renovated the concert meadow. it used to be a rolling grafsy area. put in a new stage and stage building. they put in terraces. we get from 8,000 to 12,000 people. and the meadow next to the concert meadow is full of people even though they can't see the music they hear it. i walked into the meadow several times and they don't even care. we do have literally events going on day and night. the concert association has kids days during the week. the performers come out for hundred 200 kids. now, the truckadero truck house gets rented out for weddings and retirement. the croquet clubs and horse shoes. 2 play grounds, tennis courts. we have from 25

you would simply see different groves that gives you a sense of freedom, of being outdoors, not being burdened by the worries of cityife. john mclaren had said that golden gate park was too far away. he proposed that we have a park in the south end of the city. the campaign slogan was, people need this open space. one of the things that had to open is there were a lot of people who did a homestead here, about 25 different families. their property had to be bought up. so it took from 1928 to 1957 to buy up all the parcels of land that ended up in this 317 acres. the park, as a general rule, is heavily used in the mornings and the evenings. one of the favorite places is up by the upper reservoir because dogs get to go swim. it's extremely popular. many fights in the city, as you know, about dogs in parks. we have 317 acres and god knows there's plenty of room for both of us. man and his best friend. early in the morning people before they go to work will walk their dogs or go on a jog themselves with their dogs. joggers love the park, there's 7 miles of hiking trails and there's off trail paths that hikers can take. a

city or the residence? >> you are looking at oak grove what and what creek, its ally good wishes as far as the eye can see, but they're not brushes. at least of the ones closest to the curb their christmas trees. yes, christmas trees. before you think very illegally dumped there were not in fact homeowners for us to place them there. several days ago. the problem the company that ask them to place them there was the very same company that forgot to pick them up. get this, for only two blocks. but this map using the 1900 and 2000 brought of oak grove this is jeff burger he lives there. he's tried to get them to pick up the trees to no avail. some of trees just said i'd try to call them to suit the prom was but i was put on hold, the kron. i also found that residents on different street of the same issues. trees put out but not picked up. the next time is scheduled pick-up is not for the week of the 21st so there the tree sits. this is a case of people behaving nicely by following the rules. but next christmas i see some interleaving allied waste a lump of coal. stanley roberts, kron4 news. >> we will be bac
