china southern airlines just arrived here this evening around 5:30 from guangzhou, china. that same jet as you mentioned already on its way back. everyone we talked with tonight who was on board the flight arriving here at sfo said they feel lucky to be here. this is probably the last time you'll see china southern airlines' blue and white jets on sfo's runways for a while. it like all other carriers has suspended flights to mainland china for now. passengers who touched down from guangzhou are relieved to be here. >> i'm happy to come home, you know. >> i was lucky. i was planning to fly on the 14th. i was like, oh, man, i don't want to stay over there for the whole three months, you know? >> reporter: for now the planned suspension of flights will stretch on for at least six weeks for some foreign carriers. american carriers like united have announced flight suspensions to china until early april. all the passengers we talked to hae in which is more than 600 miles south of wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus. even so far away they describe a lockdown to try and conta
