that the guard and reserve have to be a critical piece of what we do here. which is why if you look at what the airport is doing and if you look at the army for example they're bringing online an additional 22 cyber protection teams. and guard and state missions and not the cyber mission force and they realize this investment. and take for action that pull the string and then apologize and appreciate that one team and there's a lot of capabilities that we're simply not utilizing or considering when we look at that big picture. and our national component and what kind of efforts can you assist with and what can we assist with? >> i feel comfortable with the cyber mission force. and what additional level and investment as a department and in a state structure do we think is appropriate over and above that. and whatever investments we make how do we make sure that they're aligned with the broader department effort? so we're working this as one team because we can't afford everybody out there doing their own thing. that's not going to get us where we need to be.

armed forces, right now there are about 1,015,000 people if you count active, guard and reserves andhe same metric to the rest of the military you have 1.1 million more in the navy, marines and air force. compare it when world war ii was raging more than 16 million people served. they all are weighed down and that accounts for the army and the air force. let's talk about the serious naval hardware where they're moving big vessels around. they account from 271 from 2015. if you go all of the way back to 1915, as he did, 231 vessels and yeah, world war ii again, very big jump, more than 6,000 out there. what is not being mention individual of this, however, is what modern technology brings to the game and how modern weapons systems multiply force. you don't need nearly as many people to project tremendous force out there so if you're comparing, fighting power, it's just not apples to apples if you look at these different metrics out there, anderson. because he doesn't do that even though his numbers are basically right, we have to say that trump's statement is true, but misleading. >>

and that's in the air force reserve and the guard and in fact the secretary of the air force recentlyaid that they need about 250 of these people have been accessed, recruited every month and they're losing 160 every month. do the math there. so what's the air force done? it's turned flying the aircraft over to contractors. i could have sited the other component of the complex because they love it. what is the air force now do about people that are recruiting it's drones at uab pilots and paying them $100,000 a year instead of 30,000 that they were getting with the air force. this is a complex problem, and it's not going away any time soon. i am out of time and going to finish with the only way that it will go away eventually and the only way that it will remain so is if you and people like you take action in whatever way that you can. you don't have to be as dramatic as this captain, but whatever way you can whether it's calling the white house to congress or whatever, it's not going to change until you say that it must change. thank you.
