you have active weather to the west, southeast winds funneling in, highly unstable air off the gulf of mexico and again, tomorrow kansas city toward chicago and st. louis will see the chance of tornado producing thunderstorms into the start of the workweek. temperatures outside right now still 70s and 80s outside. temperature change running a few degrees warmer than yesterday. we'll repeat this for one more day tomorrow. the wind direction will be more out of the north tomorrow. it will unfortunately be increasing fire danger. you're starting to see that now. out towards the delta, these humidity levels will continue dropping off the fewer cast you'll see no low clouds on the coast thanks to the mixes down drier air, it will set the stage for warmer temperatures to come. we have high pressure building in for the next 24 to 36 hours. in some cases, could see low 90s inland. so around the inner bay, and humidity levels down into the teens at times tomorrow, and a sea breeze comes firing back up, and this will lead to a big drop in temperatures. another ten to 15 degree cool down. one real taste

you have the gulf of mexico moisture, the moisture that fuels the storms. you have the low pressure that comes from the rockies. a dry line separates the warm and moist air from the dry and cooler air. we like to say the clash of the two air masses helps to fuel the storms. it is a very warm air mass ahead of it with temperatures in the 80's and 90's and dew points in the upper 60's and 70's an indication that the air is juicy and ripe for thunderstorms. in this area of the country this is where we see super cell tornadoes. we have storm chasers on the ground. we have incredible radar showing where the storms are firing, so, fortunately or not we have helicopters in the air giving us the live pictures. i would hope that everyone involved in the area is take shelter. you saw the flash in the distance. that was reasonable another power flash. a power line. >>heather: what we cannot see are the large golf-ball sized hail people are dealing with, the winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, the heavy rain, also, you mentioned as a result of the storms. janice, you
