gus rosendale raced to the scene as soon as we heard about it. person in custody, correct? >> reporter: a number of developments following this shooting. a juvenile is in custody and another is in the hospital. chopper 4 above this scene shortly after all this happened at the end of the school day today outside dickinson high school on palisade avenue here in jersey city. a fight in the school spilled out onto the streets. a group proceeding a couple blocks away from the school when suddenly there was gunfire. it is believed one student fired upon another. the student that was hit in the leg is in serious but stable condition. it is not clear if the juvenile in custody is the person who pulled the trigger. we're getting those developments from the mayor a short time ago, and during that briefing, he also spoke about the issue of guns in this community. take a listen. >> there is no police department in the country that can unilaterally stop that sort of thing because ultimately these teenagers have access to guns, and it's a big problem, not only in jersey city, it's everyw
