let's bring in our investigative reporter, hilda gutierrez, who's leading the charge for us. you've been talking to judges, attorneys and the asylum seekers. first of all, what's causing the backlog in these immigration courts? yeah, there's a few factors here. according to this immigration law experts. immigration courts have been historically understaffed, underfunded and overwhelmed. so that's one big factor to consider there. the other factor is that asylum seekers have increased in the in the last two years. as we've seen we've seen it at the border and we've seen the applications of asylum seekers increase. okay. so just more people here, why would there be more strain on the courts with the trump deportations? is he giving the deportees a legal option here? so as we've seen, we have seen those people that are deported and they are in those military planes, and then they go right to another country and they go to another country. but according to nbc news, there have been people that have been released. so those people have to go through the proper due process and proce
