guy? guy: kailey, thank you very much indeed.r theresa may's brexit deal continues in the u.k. after the prime minister is expected to speak shortly, the house of commons looks remarkably empty. economist joins us with her assessment. earlier on in the session, we had news from the e.u. there were certain concessions being drafted into the u.k. around the backstop, which is the transition basically designed to protect northern ireland. given the fact this is a major sticking point, how much have that taken us forward and what will it do to break the deadlock? >> we can say it is not nothing. what the e.u. has done in this letter is try to provide assurances on two levels. thate level, they said even if they negotiate a trade agreement -- sorry, i have an echo in my ear. guy: take that out of your ear and that will make life easier. guy? guy: i have got the trades.yuan the chinese currency is trading in a tight range. chinese authorities are happy about this and they have been managing the story. this is the chinese foreign exchange trading system, meant to be the midpoint we track here. this is the basket on the yuan that the chinese look to manage carefully. as you can see, they have been doing that. weards the middle of 2018, have seen the chinese keeping their currency in a very tight manner. this is the period we were talking about that maybe the chinese were weaponizing their currency, but they generally generated quite a lot of stability. now, bumping up across the top of that range, so what you would now expect, and this may be the trade are pointing to, is maybe the chinese will start to manage it weaker. i am not suggesting this is a trade to invest money in because popcurrency could easily out, but the suggestion would be that the chinese, and you can judge by recent performance, would want to manage the slower. they are trying to kee

guy: great stuff. this is bloomberg. ♪ guy: from london i'm guy , johnson.w york, i'm vonnie quinn. time for our stock of the hour, western digital's shares falling, this before earnings on the 24th and after wells fargo cut the price target and brought expectations down for the quarter. joining us is taylor riggs. >> a lot of concerns about the memory price, weaker demand and oversupply, how it is affecting all of these companies that make the memory chips. in terms of earnings per share, as you mentioned wells fargo has guided it down to 145. and that is right where the analysts have it on our terminal. and more portly the next few quarters going out have been brought down as well. a plot of concerns about weaker fundamentals. if you come into my terminal, you can see were the analysts are relative to the street and where the current pricing action is. wells fargo cutting it down to cutting75, a record isi it down this week. morgan stanley has a cautious view on the entire sector. but the price is well above where it is trading right now. we will get more
