guy: yeah. it is interesting that that narrative is the one that is winning right now as soonest stock volumes are picking up. but bonds are in some ways delivering on that kind of safety trade, because recently that's not been the case. in some ways, equities and bonds have been trading in the same direction. are we now going to see a significant divergence? are they going to be on opposite sides of the fence? ed: that is a good question because jamie dimon and the head of evercore both were talking about the uncertainty. there's a great deal of uncertainty and there's a sort of push-pull within the rates market now. on the one side, you have a torrent of issuance coming from the treasury. there's a certain degree of indigestion that we can see as a result of that. that is why we saw the yields back off yesterday. but then you have this geopolitical risk, this uncertainty, oil prices going up. you have inflation numbers that are some of the worst we have seen in that one year number from the um

guy: emily, good morning it is guy.ot of people have been intact and looking at the magnificent seven. we get many of these names over the next few days reporting. if tech stumbles, or industrials somewhere. you should look for an alternative. should you think about rotating your portfolio out of tech into industrials? should you think about abroad diversified portfolio in your equity book? talk me through where we are right now, where we then, and where we are going and whether or not this is an inflation point. emily: yeah, we look at industrials and mid-caps is a great way to diversify from the tech exposure. we been overweight technology stocks really primarily for the function of our preference for quality. we've been looking first -- for sectors with good return on equity, low interest burdens, and frankly the poster child has been mega cap tech but when you look at the returns on the s&p 500 there's a lot of ink spilled on this. 95% of them have been driven by the magnificent seven. while we look at mega cap tech

guy: what do make of the buzz? the industry and see what is going on and there seems to be a lot talked about in the subject right now. do you think it is being overhyped? what is your sense as an insider into what is going on? joseph: i think it is early. i think it is great science and has the potential to really help a lot of people. people will have the opportunity to live longer but they will still need the procedures and perhaps other therapies and perhaps there is a more wait and see and balanced approach. but i think it is a great testament to what life can bring to society. alix: you had goldman sachs saying it is a duopoly market. i appreciate what you are saying in terms of this is how we can support them in the need for surgeries. if you had to look at expanding johnson & johnson's footprint, what would you need to do to build that part of your business up in some way? joseph: we have been successful is sticking areas to our we have deep scientific expertise. you look at what we have done on oncology an

guy: absolutely. the cleaner rate probably comes in the form of what is happening with german bonds. let me show you that. this is the move friday. actually not a very big market reaction to that payroll report. then we get the gap lower in yields as a result of the events over the weekend and yields continue to track lower. today, they picked up a little. i think that is a cleaner read on what is happening here. what you really need to go on is the story in terms of the futures in the united states to get a read on what is happening. this kind of yield drop we have seen this morning may not be as real as it looks, but the narrative has been that we have seen a series of fed speakers over the last few days and hours talking about the idea that the market is doing the heavy lifting now and as a result may be the fed does not need to do as much. maybe we are taking out this extra rate hike for later this year. my understanding was that we are in a situation where the rate moves we have seen up has been
