we reached out to the then director of ycd and we talked by gwenn brown and said what can we do and what is the most important thing? guess what? this is ground zero for a month before i came into office, there was a murder and the first week i was in office, there was a murder and it was a continuous state of violence. and then you looked at the unemployment in the black community that has historically been here and it was extremely high to the rest of the community. i went to then mayor lee and said we need your support. we want to put money towards a great organization and a great young lady standing and carrying on the tradition of her father and that young lady is gwenn brown.
