the c-h-p says the driver noticed smoke, coming from the limo, then stopped. shortly after, the limo burst into flames. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. philippe djegal, kron four news. we're getting images of two of the woman who were in the limo when the fire broke out and survived the ordeal. one is of jasmine desguia of san jose the second victim mary guardiano from alameda. we are learning that the fire broke out in the back of the limo. possibly the trunk, but an investigation is still ongoing. the two other victims who survived the fire are nelia arrellano of oakland and amalia loyola of san leandro. the driver of the vehicle managed to escape uninjured. kron 4 spoke to a family friend of one of the victims who was hospitalized because of the fire. . they said it that she needed assistance pretty badly. because of the fire. so that is it. so we went to the hospital. and it seems as though she is okay. >> authorities said the names of the dead will be released once families have been notified. tonight team coverage continues as kron 4'

c-h-p is investigating a fatal crash that killed two people this afternoon on highway four near byron. kron four's jeff bush show's us the scene and explains what happened. >> reporter: the crash was reported ariound one thirty in the afternoon. chp says this blue subaru iprezza was hit by this flatbed tow truck with in the intersection of byron highway and marsh creek road. the female passenger of the imprezza was killed instantly. the subaru imprezza made a left turn into the path of the tow truck. after the impact, the imprezza was pushed towards the north east corner of the intersection at which point it came to rest against the traffic light standard. chp says one of the drivers ran a red light. it's an unfortunate incident. the male driver was flown to john muir hospital in walnut creek but, unfortunatly, died a short time after arrival. you can see the massive amount of damage to the subaru. the entire right side of the car was caved in. the driver of the tow truck was not injured in the crash. chp says they are still trying to determine if speed or alcohol was a factor. i'm je
