far my projects don't need to apply for certificate of appropriate or of any other exemption from h.p.c. back in 2017, i was appointed by the mayor to serve on the arts commission. my duties are to review the buildings. to allocate funding, fiscal funding and serve as the liaison. i appreciate and have in-depth understanding of the complexity involved to get a building built purposefully. i frequently review civic projects an urban master plan with historical landmarks, as it relates to history of the artwork and the architectural elements, including how to appropriately restore them, so they are resilient to natural hazards. through my work with the arts commission, i have been working with local communities to create cultural heritage work. i work with tndc and other projects to ensure the work complies with the transgender cultural district. i work with project sponsors to enjoy -- to ensure that the design of the eagle plaza met multiple city department requirements and was consistent with the lgbtq district. i led the multiple design review process for having the plaza redesigned,

four applications were submitted to planning on july 25 and heard by h.p.c. on august 21.or each applicant, the s.b.c. has been provided a staff report, a draft resolution, the applicati application, a case report. there are copies on the table in the public binders. item 3(a) is ehs pilates. the business is an education center. it is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century after joseph pilates. ehs pilates was one of the first pilates studios on the west coa coast. in 2002, the business moved to its current location on valencia street and in 2007 tracey sylvester purchased the studio. in 2015, tracey became the sole owner of the business. although ehs pilates is not yet 30 years old, it is eligible for listing on the registry because it faces a significant risk of displacement. item 3 desist (b) is f. dorian inc. the store features contemporary crafts, ethnic arts, and home decor displayed with museum esthetic. their wares include jewellery, glassware, and more. 2001 f. dorian moved from 388 hayes street to 370 to allow them to open their private din

since i was not the principal of the farm or an attorney, i personally did not present in front of the h.p.c. it is the staff who prepares and researched the materials. and that work should not be discounted. i also held a retail design management position at apple. before that i was a senior technical architect associate at the firm, where i designed skyscrapers and landmarks. through my work at jackson, where i was honored to be involved in the adaptive reuse of the first nine apple stores in the urban sites. for almost every one of these stores, we had to consider the impact of new structure on the surrounding historical environment. i was the architect of the first apple store on south street, a project that involved historic buildings, as well as the downtown preservation district. i worked on the apple store in soho, new york, located in post office and the apple store on regent street in london. the world's oldest retail shopping street. this is something that was requested by h.p.c. and as part of the design in order to ensure compatibility with the gas like building. it also leaves attractive open space and opens up the garden and views of the gas like building. it is definitely a preferable configuration for the building and it was supported that was granted by the zoning administrator with the proper findings. you can see from the rendering, the configuration is compatible with a lot and with a brand-new building. the appellants recently finished construction, noting that the units were sold while our project was underway. there project receive the same rear yard modification as well as additional variances. the appellant has provided no evidence or arguments that there is manifest injustice. there is no request or basis for a rehearing here. we ask that you deny the request thank you. >> thank you. mr. sanchez? >> thank you. the issues that were raised in there rehearing request or arguments that were raised. i believe we addressed them at the appeal hearing.
