satellite imagery as you can see down in the caribbean, a long way from the bay area, but a very healthy formed storm. you can see the convection clearly has been very consistent, not much change here on the infrared satellite imagery over the last 24 hours. in fact, this storm obviously has gotten stronger. 14.1 north, 68.8 west moving west at 14 miles per hour and 80 mile-per-hour winds. you can see that forecast track taking it just east of ma we're keeping an eye on the cone of error that may include portions of southeast florida. that position is about 400 miles southeast of miami tuesday later in the evening with potential 100 mile-per- hour winds. of course, that can change with land interaction, high wind shear values the next couple days. we got some pretty high observations in terms of winds from the hurricane hunter aircraft today, 91 mile-per- hour winds, so that certainly justifies the stronger up later and keep an eye on it the next couple days. >> thank you, steve. >>> terrifying and tragic images out of hoboken new jersey tonight, the aftermath of a massive crash at a busy rush hour train station. at least one person is dea

now nbc news has uncovered can long, unseen footage from the national archives giving us an unprecedented look at japan's unconditional surrender in tokyo bay 2nd, 1945. nbc's tom brokaw has the story produced by dateline producer andy franklin. >> reporter: world war ii in the pacific, four years of bloody hell, came to an end here. september 2, 1945. a solemn ceremony on the deck of the uss missouri in tokyo bay. a mighty warship and a peace to celebrate. the ship was packed with hundreds of sailors, marines, reporters, cameramen, and top military brass with legendary names, mccain. representatives of nine allied nations and supreme allied commander general douglas macarthur. just before 9:00 that morning, the japanese representatives approached the missouri. they boarded in silence. took their places. and the brief ceremony began. >> it is my earnest hope and indeed the hope of all mankind that from this solemn occasion, a better world shall emerge out of the blood and carnage of the past. >> reporter: mcarthur was about to become the ruler of japan and the japanese people defeated and afraid did not know what to expect until this moment
