i'm brian hackney. frank has the morning off. >> and i'm michelle griego. time now is 6:00. >>> the america's cup is two weeks away. and the coast guard still hasn't issued permits for the races to begin. kpix 5 reporter sue kwon is in san francisco with more. >> reporter: there's a long list of rules they have to agree on about 35 left to go on a list of 37. the america's cup is set to start on this 4th of july weekend. these new rules could hit rough patches. after british olympic gold medalist andrew simpson died in an accident, the race manager review committee came up with 37 new safety and equipment rules and so far only two have been agreed upon. there was a technical change made to the catamaran structure and then the other change gets rid of guest positions on the boat. now, today mediation is going to continue to settle remaining disagreements amongst the different race participants which has sectioned off into two different sides. if the safety concerns are not addressed, the coast guard will not issue permits for the races to begin. and that's t

heading into your weekend, brian hackney is in tonight. >> time for change. with fog and clouds the numbers had come down. as you head out the door tomorrow morning, expect if the live on the shoreline don't see a sunrise. temperatures in the mid-50s there and around the bay, partly sunny skies. inhand sunny, but not as warm as lately. that as you head out for your saturday morning. the clouds' presence means we have a major cool down for saturday. a return to low clouds, low clouds in the morning and sun in the afternoon. it's happening because this high pressure that has kept us warm for the last week or so gets nudged out of the way by the low pressure from the gulf of alaska. the low pressure will cool us down by 10 degrees for saturday. earlier tonight, clear skies along the shoreline but as we roll this ahead, hoe clouds pack in the shore and the forecast is this, persistent low clouds around the shore and the peninsula. these stay in here most of the days even as the inland areas cheer. temperatures had come down for everybody. low 80s for livermore. 9

brian hackney is in for paul deanno tonight. >> we are looking at the suspension span of the bay bridge there. that has already been seismically retrofit to withstand many things including i hope heat because the heat is on in the bay area as high pressure builds in from the desert southwest. we look to hit 100 degrees tomorrow in some spots inland and stay there for a while, hot through tuesday at least in the bay area. there's excessive heat advisories already posted for much of nevada and southern california that will be true in the bay area by this weekend. the temperature range will be from 75 at the beaches the warmest spots may hit 108 degrees by sunday night. the extended forecast, we flirt with the century mark tomorrow but then keep it there all the way through tuesday. do we get a break after that? you will have to stay tuned for the weather forecast a few minutes from now. >> thank you. >>> this week's doma ruling a huge relief to a same-sex couple in orinda. married but facing forced separation because of immigration law. their nightmare has turned into a dream come true. k
