meteorologist brian hackney joins us now. hopefully he has some good news for the weekend. >> yeah. i think things will get better slowly but surely and by next week temperatures will improve. air conditions will improve, but it won't happen overnight quite literally because these winds are still a problem. we've got northwesterlies on the way stronger than they were tonight and you can see the forecast direction of those winds are pushing the fire exactly in the direction that they don't want to go, which is down into more populated areas. so that's going to create problems for the firefighters tomorrow. overnight tonight the winds are not too bad, but the smoke concentration does get ushered out of much of the bay area. look at the coast and also almost out to the east bay. that's by tomorrow night at 6:00. so the worst of the smoke is east of much of the bay area, not so much for the east bay, and look at santa rosa as we run this smoke concentration loop on. you'll see that the plume curls back over the north bay by sunday night at 6:00. so it's not great news for the north bay.
