i have to tell you, hagel was expected to attend. all reporters were given information late last night that he would be there. now the word is he will skip it. the official word is that hagel wants the day to all be about ash carter celebrating him, his nomination, his family but, look, there is no way around it. this is a last minute change in plan. secretary hagel several days ago pushed out of the job by the white house, a lot of controversy about he was with leaving. on both sides, did he push? did he jump? was the job too much for him? why did he move on?
