a bit of a southern component in hagerstown. a bit of a northern component towards the river. we will call it variable winds. it is a light breeze. what we've been experiencing over the majority of the day and over the majority of the area is high pressure pushing a nice chilly northwest wind around much of the area. it's responsible for much of the drying. what we're watching this low pressure system and the front associated with it. currently it's over the plain states and moving into the midwest. the low pressure is the counter clock wise flow around that low that's going to push in mild air over the next few days. our temperatures going into the low 40s today. we're poise to be just around 44 to 45 degrees. this low is going to bring in temperatures and get us up to 50 tomorrow and then be in the 60s for the ma majority of the weekend. it comes with a chance of showers and rain. expect that through monday or -- expect that through monday. southwest wind at 5 to 10 is your condition on the bay. 46 degrees today. look for some clouds tonight 31. for tomorrow 52, mostly cloud

region all the way to hagerstown and down to the south. calvert, st. mary's, anne arundel, all these areas seeing visibility greatly reduced. this will be through till 9:00 tomorrow morning. realize that as you do your morning commute tomorrow you'll have reduced visibility. so this system will head north as a warm front. warmer air will stream up from the south. winds will be gusty moving into monday and we keep an eye on this frontal system to the west. this will be a strong cold front that will move through. before that happens our temperatures will boost into the mid-60s or 70s, but we're talking a chance of isolated thunderstorms with this front. we'll keep a close eye on it. tomorrow won't be a total washout day, but here's a look at some of the rain showers that will move through especially into the evening hours. we'll start to see this pick up and fill in more and could see an isolated thunderstorm. colder air on the backside of that front over the mountains monday to tuesday, could see some snow showers. here's a look at your fox 5 accuweathe

there are just a couple sprinkle showing up on the river south of hagerstown toward frederick and some light snow flurries showing up in the western part of garrett county. it is very minimal. most of the area is dry especially over baltimore and the eastern shore and it will stay that way into the afternoon it would just be one drop of rain. that is good news for the afternoon commute. the winds are a little bumpy. you might have to grit your steering well as receive wind gusts up to 26 miles per hour at the airport and near 30 miles per hour in gaithersburg and hagerstown. it is very windy out there and the winds are coming from the west down the mountains and this helps to warm the air. it goes down the mountain in the air compressors and that causes it to warm. that is why you are seeing warm conditions east of the mountains but everywhere west is much colder, only 32 degrees in oakton. the temperatures rise going toward the east where we have the upper 50's. there's also some colder air pushing in against the mountain and that will arrive our way tonight into tomorrow. expected te
