fox 29's jennifer joyce is live outside hahnemann university hospital where he is being treated, jennifer. >> reporter: last night in a police press conference the the police officer did say that he believed that the suspect was also shot in the arm. you can see a police van outside hahnemann hospital here too. taking a look at our video you can see the the 19th district officers bike lying on the sidewalk as police surround the area and investigate. it was around 10:15 in the park side section of west philadelphia when bike officer daniel costic was attempting to stop a man in the van for a possible drug investigation. the van took off. officer costic caught up with the suspect at 51st and master street when the the suspect stated quote i don't want to have to do this. he then allegedly fired his weapon at the officer. officer costic returned fire and shot the the suspect. the officer is going to be okay. >> the weapon was recovered at the the scene. the officer costic is a eight year veteran of the police department, married with two children. we are glad to report that he will be okay.
