and in the lower haight, lower haight is batter up.e're going to do the same thing for lower haight. fillmore is in transition period because a lot of people don't understand that in the fillmore and japan town, for 45 years, this area of our city known as redevelopment e-2 project area was governed by a different agency than by city hall, a redevelopment agency. their land use and zoning code did not comport and did not reflect our own san francisco planning codes. operated by a very different government system in fillmore and japan town for 45 years. that period expired in january 2009. previous to that period, created some of the most significant upheaval in transformation in the fillmore and in japan town. we're now dealing with the after effects of that, where i'm proving legislation that help deal with i think some of the missteps of urban renewal this took place between the 1960's and 1980's. so that's a hodgepodge of things. >> you mentioned key issues with your district and things going on at the city. how will you balance the

the street buzz will be going twa's -- v haight street bus will be going both ways.balboa park, we will be completing the field project. in the mission, we received a grant for new open space. those are some of the great accomplishments that have happened in the last year. we are also doing more detailed planning work so that we know the infrastructure we need to build in the coming years. we have also identified a few new funding tools. those have been before you. that includes recon hill. we are looking at establishing rfd's in other areas as well. they have both done a lot of work in the last year. the market octavia created a list of priority projects. that has been integrated into all the work. the eastern neighborhood has been working on their prioritization process. they are new are. they also reviewed the future agreements -- a few of the agreements for improvements, including a child care center approved on third street. that is the first report in front of you. when you look for it, it does go through each area and talk about the accomplishments and how muc

i lived on haight street and the banks left. we had to go to ninth avenue to go to the bank. finally, wells fargo came back to heat street, bridget came back to haight street, and that was fantastic for us. now have a business directly across the street from this site. it is the closest proximity business across the street from this corner, " and divisadero. -- oak and divisadero. we're trying to revive this corner, and we did with the business we have. it is a big eyesore and problem with the look at this boarded up place, tag across the street. it is nice to hear that somebody will fork up the money and build. the fact is we cannot go in there because the city and not give us money for it. i like to have a gallery, coffee, something of culture, but it is not going to happen. when my employees need more money and tips, they depend on local businesses. these businesses coming in will help our business. as a neighbor, maybe i could see a small community bank, but it is not one to happen. we like a bank to be there, does not matter if it is chase or wells fargo. i own the busin

the lower haight neighborhood. buena vista avenue east at haight and duboce.al police got a ten from the fbi that the man was wanted for two bank robberies in irvine. so they tracked him to this neighborhood because the fbi says he was driving a stolen car with an on board gps unit. officers identified this man, approached the car and they say he aimed the car at them. they were afraid he was going to hit them so they say they opened fire. >> they heard sort of something along the lines of, you know, freeze or step away, that sort of thing, which made me want to get up and look out the window. i realized it was the police. i just heard a lot of shots coming from all sorts of directions. >> reporter: several shots fired. the man died two hours later at the hospital. now, the fbi calls this guy the gen x bandit because he wore a lot of plaid in a couple of robberies according to officers from these surveillance photos from robberies on may 17. the fbi says this was their man. they said he walked up to the tellers demanding cash. they have been looking for him si

the cole street clinic is a youth clinic in the heart of the haight ashbury and they target youth.tral city residents and they have great expertise in providing services for many of the homeless. potrero hill and southeast health centers are health centers in those particular communities that are family health centers, so they provide health care to patients across the age span. . >> many of our clients are working poor. they pay their taxes. they may run into a rough patch now and then and what we're able to provide is a bridge towards getting them back on their feet. the center averages about 14,000 visits a year in the health clinic alone. one of the areas that we specialize in is family medicine, but the additional focus of that is is to provide care to women and children. women find out they're pregnant, we talk to them about the importance of getting good prenatal care which takes many visits. we initially will see them for their full physical to determine their base line health, and then enroll them in prenatal care which occurs over the next 9 months. group prenatal care is
