. >>> reporter: it's gotten a lot of conversation going on in the haight-ashbury neighborhood where it happened. this morning, we are seeing the moment when police caught up to suspect joel armstrong. he was involved in a shooting and carjacking that happened on the panhandle earlier this month. this is video when police fired into the rv armstrong was holed up in. in . s-f armstrong had carjacked a vehicle after killing one man and injuring another. san francisco police tracked him to this rv at alameda. after repeated orders he refused to come out. three people and a dog came out and then moments after, police heard two shots fired from inside the rv. and they fired back. two hours after the standoff started armstrong finally left the rv and was arrested. police say this is the firearm they recovered from the suspect, a 9-millimeter gun. armstrong faces charges of carjacking, murder and eight counts of attempted murder. seven officers fired 65 shots and no one was hurt. all of the video from the shooting has been released to the public. >>> car break-ins have become so bad in san fra
