hailey. >> thank you mr. chairman i will -- i appreciate your incites and the opportunity to speak to the board. i will say regarding the report card and how it looks after the first year i think you did an excellent job of summarizing it, but there is clearly good news. number one maintenance is improving. the reliability of the fleet is up, and all across the board i should say fleets, and number two the number of delays and the duration of the delays is down. i think that's a very important point that speaks to both improvements in the operations and maintenance side. secondly, as we hope to show with some of the information today your help, your support particularly in investing in the system. today we will talk more perhaps about vehicles, but also targeted and focused efforts to deal with systemic problems on the vehicles are paying dividends. across the board the fleet is up. the number -- i guess the third thing i would say we're sitting on a five year high with ridership growth. we don't expect that

particularly in your town of hailey, idaho.ping up, if they are yet, to greet this army sergeant when he does, in fact, come home? >> well, we had a -- a couple friends, stephanie and debbie o'neil, working on an event to bring bowe back, now it's going to be bowe is back 214 event held in hailey, idaho on june 28th. that event is still going on. bob and jani will be talking. singing there at the event and this is going to be an incredible day. the emotions of the town are just, you know, a very emotional day when everybody learned bowe was captured back in 2009. the emotions are completely opposite reverse, and it's just an incredible feeling. i've been watching my facebook page, and the people on facebook are just, the posts are just phenomenal. everybody is changing their profile pictures to bowe and boasting stories about bowe. it's exploding. there's no personal things about the personal life, everybody i'm reading on facebook is about bowe being released. >> amazing. listen, it's impossible not do get chills listening to

i know i have had a chance to speak briefly with a few people there in the town of hailey, idaho.s in bowe bergdahl's hometown to finally be able to say those words, this day has finally come. i think it is incredibly emotional for all of them. i know i'm struck every time i go back to the town of hailey, idaho, yellow ribbons are there, the coffee shop he once worked at, five years ago put up a sign of bring bowe bergdahl home, and that sign still sits there at that coffee shop. last time in town i was struck by the toll the weather had taken on the sign, but it has never come down in almost five years every time i'd see that sign it would become more weathered, torn apart by the weather there in idaho, and i think that spoke volumes for just how long this ordeal has lasted for the bergdahl family. >> absolutely. look, when your son becomes a -- a member of the army, a sergeant in the army, as he is, you obviously know the risks. you know he could pay the ultimate price, but this limbo, knowing or believing that he is alive, in captivity and not knowing much more is -- absolutely
