mark haines started here at this church just over a year ago.he's worked at nine different parishes since 1985. the d.a. tom hogan tells me that was immediately a red flag. they wanted to take him into custody right away, in part because there is a school right next to this church, as kecked with this parish. haines is being held in the chester county prison. he could not make bail. meantime, i'm still digging into what's happening next in the investigation. for now we're live in westtown township, chester county, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> thank you, matt. skyforce 10 over a fire that destroyed several apartments in voorhees, camden county. you can see flames shooting from the building at the club apartment homes. three police officers and a firefighter were injured trying to get out of this building. the officers and the firefighter were treated for smoke inhalation. they are expected to recover. officials say there was a fire at this same apartment complex in july from a lightning strike and today's weather conditions did not help the situ

recent beheadings of american journalists james foley, steven sotloff, and british aid worker david haines shocked and outraged the public, and prompted an american military response. >> if you threaten america, you will find no safe haven. >> reporter: and now another british aid worker, alan henning, has suffered the same fate. a story that prompted another round of intense coverage. despite the widespread coverage of the four recent isis beheadings, dr. dawn perlmutter, an author and scholar who for years has studied ritualistic crimes and religious terrorism, says video-taped beheadings are nothing new, and that these recent events are actually just the tip of the iceberg. she told us just yesterday, it would be safe to say there have been at least two dozen beheadings around the world since the start of september. among them, four people killed by mexican drug cartels, four by an extremist group in the sinai peninsula, and another person beheaded by boko haram militants who posted their own video just this past friday. few, if any, of those incidents even made the news in this country
