haiti covering the forces. this latest book "rock force" tells us about the retaking the of the corregidor. please join me in welcoming kevin maurer. >> hello and welcome. thank you very much for the mac arthur center for having me to talk about the # rock of corregidor. my brother lives in norfolk, and i grew up in that area, and so i am familiar what you have done there and so i appreciate the time to talk to me. "the rock force" is an interesting book in that i had no idea about corregidor or about the 503rd, and i was in my editor's office in new york, and his grandfather jumped on it. and he and i were looking for a topic for a book, and he is the one who mentioned it, and we thought that it would be a great topic. but i had no idea. the only familiarity that i had with rock force was that they have a mannequin in the military museum in fayetteville, and so it was more of a journey more than anything, and it is a -- and what i found is it was a really overlooked operation that doesn't get the fanfare that many of the other operations get, and so in the end, it is an amazing journey. i will walk you through some of the events and the characters that you will meet when you read "ro
