here's a live look at half moon bay. things look fairly calm there, but other parts of the coastline, not so you get toward pacific. you see those large waves kind of slamming right along the coastline. so, yeah, the national weather service says we've got to be careful out there. some of those waves, maybe 6 to 10 feet high in those big time waves. they can knock it down and drag. you're right on that cold water in a hurry. so be very careful if you're headed out along the coast. in the meantime, though, yeah, we are working on a nice day outside the temperatures. pretty comfortable in most spots school 60 in san francisco. it is 66 degrees in oakland. 73 in san jose. 79 degrees now and live more warm. 80 in concord. 79 saint rose and a cool 59 in half moon bay with that fog. but we can expect more fog on the way as camped out right there. some of the clouds continuing along the coastline out said though, talking about those storms. we could see something punch through a chance of rain on the way. we'll talk more about

in half moon bay, farmers are competing in the great pumpkin weigh-off. some are hoping to break a world record, and ktvu james torres is right there, live in half moon bay where that weighing is. i believe, underway right now. james right. >> sure is. pam, good morning to you. here we just got a larger pumpkin that just got off the scale, weighing at about just shy of 800 pounds. that's not going to be the winner this morning, but it gives you an idea just how big some of these things go. 2,700 pounds. that is the record that some people are trying to beat this morning. and that's what these farmers are targeting to go for gold. there's some optimism that the record could be broken and set today. this is half moon bay's favorite annual tradition and frankly, it's a personal favorite of mine to cover hundreds of farmers compete hoping to go for gold, but only a few will get up there. those that weigh just a few hundred pounds. that's what we're going to see at first. then we'll start to see those that break into the 1000 2000, a little later this morning.

and half moon bay down to palo alto 77 san francisco. you got your nice cool breeze back in. way i see it right now. we should be in the 60s across the board from the marina down to the ingleside and for the north bay 82, in napa. okay, let's take it to hurricane milton. we'll get you into what's happening with the storm again, to just the north here of the yucatan peninsula. and as we get you this closer fix on it, this storm shows no sign of weakening. look at this well-defined eye in the center of the storm. that, again, is telling us that this storm will continue to hold its strength certainly through tonight and the next couple of days. category five winds of 165. and overall, with the path we've seen it move a little bit more off to the south. but we're still thinking tampa to fort myers would be the landfall zone of this 125 mile per hour winds thursday morning. landfall comes out the other side near daytona beach thursday night, 85 mile per hour winds up to 15in. we could see a storm surge up to 15ft. we'll have more updates on that, but you can see back here at home.

santa rosa on that bus hanging out in the 70's and a little cooler and a little breezy out of half moon bay there in the 60's at this hour or so. i mentioned breezy a half moon bay. you can see it's really start to pick up everywhere. vein out to about 23 miles per hour. but even as we head over to oakland, hayward were in the teens now. so we're starting to enter that space saying we're gonna get a little bit gusty. and as we look at our wind gusts, you can see that kind of roll a little bit harder as we get into the evening and then the overnight as well. notice it picks up here about 11:00pm start but inland flow, little bit of a northerly flow there. and then it finally kicks back to you. get into tomorrow. so make sure you just being a little careful because that wind will come pick be picking up. here's that low pressure system that i was talking about this off the coast. you're i might go down here. we have a major hurricane boy. i do mean major. we're within 2 miles of per hour of this becoming a category 5 hurricane. this is hurricane christie in the pacific. thankfully, this is no

for half moon bay we will see mid 70s in redwood city for you.the city we will enjoy temperatures a little bit more mild than yesterday and that clearing mainly through the embarcadero side, the marina. i'm going to keep a chance of some fog through the outer sunset, down through daly city and pacifica, up towards the north bay. we go a nice day up in wine country, upper 70s, some low 80s. we go out towards the coast of marin. also seeing those near 70 degrees out there towards point reyes. so just a nice sunday as we wrap up the weekend here. should stay cruising with temperatures through about monday tuesday as well. before we get some more high clouds rolling in tuesday night, approaching our next chance of rain into wednesday morning again, that chance will stay limited towards the north bay. very light amounts. just some drizzle on the windshield. we don't need huge umbrellas or huge jackets. it will stay just pretty much concentrated towards the north, clearing out into thursday, setting us up for yet another change in our weather pattern.
