lets get to halie jackson, she's covering the trump's transition down at the white house today. this is sort of a surprise on a friday afternoon to hear that there is new leadership of a transition team >> i will say this, kate. there is some expectations as we talked about it this morning. we'll be seeing some names revealed and why is that? >>> it is the natural flow of what we expect to see three days out from the new president elect trump being elected by the nation. the other part is they don't have a tun on of time. those key positions including, for example, the clehief of sta. >> because of who's under consideration for that slot. if in fact as names have been floated out there if priebus d ended up going in the west wing, somebody has to end up maneuvered there and getting elected in that position. it is a game in musical chairs. lets get through this list. what is most striking about these names is that these are people who if you have any familiarity of donald trump's campaign, these are the names that you would expect to see on his transition team. people that have b

here we have kristen welker and halie jackson and from white house north, trump tower, cal perry. kelly, lets talk about the vp elect and what he's doing in dc and his lead of the transition. >> reporter: well, thomas, the first piece that he's meeting with vice president and getting a look at the place that'll be his home for vice president elect and his wife karen, the residence of the vice president, this is parts ceremonial and introductory and part business. there is going to be some commonality between pence and biden in this respect. president obama has lean on president biden for his relationships in capitol hill. we expect the trump administration will relay on mike pence going forward. they had plenty to talk about. a couple of things that are coming in related to the transition, i am told that some of the vetting of potential job applicants is under way. by that, let me explain, there is initial piece of vetting of gathering information of public sources and path comments and job history, things that you can essentially google and there is the private source information

we got cal perry and halie jackson and mark murray and kristen welker here to me in the st studio. run us to the latest, who is donald trump considering and who are the front runners? >> one of the front runners he met over the weekend, governor mitt romney and of course, what makes that so interesting. the reason why that got so many headlines because these are former rivals. romney was the most out spoken people. he's being very seriously considered for second tieretary state along are rudy giuliani . there is a little bit of entri s entries. there are a lot of republicans saying romney would be a fantastic choice and in terms of who we are seeing today, scott brown, you saw there, he's being looked at possible va secretary as well as rick perry. another rival. will there be a team of rivals? that that's a big question a lot of folks have. she's a democrat and he's been focused on loyalists. we are getting a little bit of a read out who says president-elect trump asked me to meet with him about our current policies regarding syria and al-qaida and as well as other foreign policy
