and they're about to meet now on the fourth floor here at city hall. council person johnson says most of the tankers you see here are older models and he's urging congress and the u.s. department of transportation to issue specifications for tank car design. johnson also says the widely used model of tanker is prone to puncturing. he's asking philadelphia office of emergency management, to share information with those living close to the tracks. environmental groups in our area argue that more than 700,000 philadelphians live in an oil disaster evacuation zone. as you know as chris also just mentioned, there have been derailments here within the past 15 months. the most recent one late january of this year in south philly. in january of 2014 tanker cars were left teetering over the schuylkill river. now, of course there were no leaks in either case. but the question is just how safe are people should a derailment occur and leaking occur? we're going to be monitoring the vote and discussion by members of council and have that for you next half hour. liv
