. >> mark halperin, in a week with cautionary comments from well-known market watchers, you yourself say that one of the signs you're seeing, that the bull market is coming to an end. new stock buybacks fell to the lowest level in a year and a half. why should that be concerning to us? >> well, turns out if you go back over the last decade, the period for which there's really reliable monthly figures on the buyback announcements by the publicly traded corporation, turns out very high, one of the highest correlation efficients you'll see in the marketplace between the value, the monthly values announced buybacks and the market's behavior. so the fact that starting in may that there was this what tim, attracts this, massive slowdowns in buyback announcements, the fact the market kept going, run out over a cliff and perhaps it will have to come back down to earth, unless buyback was to pick back up again or the third possibility, that this correlation has been broken. it's been a correlation seen fairly strongly for the last decade. >> josh brown, how do you read that? >> mark, i disput
