reporting live from mount hamilton's mark sayer, ktvu. fox two news. the snow is gonna stick around, apparently for a little while. i like the guy who was so ambitious, he strapped the skis on match that's good to see. so we got a decent amount of snow and the local peaks here in the bay area, rosemary and a ton of it up in the mountains, did we? yes anywhere from 4 to 6 ft. over parts of the sierra today or i should say over the weekend. ah it is a drying out there as well as dry here. let's take a look at a lake tahoe. what a gorgeous view their snow began and the winter storm warning along with it, and it was really treacherous. getting up over the past is this weekend, but take a look at what we have walked away with 70 inches reported over sierra at tahoe tahoe donner reporting 50 inches soda springs 54. boreal coming in with about 60 inches, so mount hamilton's are receiving at least a few inches of snow and mount hamilton's had received three inches of rainfall from saturday into sunday before the snow started to fall and other of our hills did

up on mount hamilton at 4200 feet up. lake observatory took appalledder overnight and that's what it looked like today. snow on the peaks forecast by darren peck. what happens now? >> more overnight and then just in time for the morning commute tomorrow, this storm is done. we've still got an exciting night tonight and i want the highlight that but tomorrow morning with no rain on the commute we're going to have blue skies and you are going to be able to see a dusting of snow on those peaks down there in the south bay. but we're not there yet. we still have some action to cover if you take a look at first alert doppler where me and watch the last three hours, look at the lightning out there. so we're getting into one of the more interesting aspects of this phase, kind of like the final little bit like the grand finale. and there's some lightning mixed in and there won't be a lot of it but if we were going to have a situation where we got thunder or hail. the next nine hours would be the prime time for that. so south of sa

we also saw some snow flurries out there earlier tonight over a near mount hamilton. and we're starting to see some popping up in the east bay specially around the diablo range. so once again, winter wonderland for parts of the bay area. and it's because of this cold core storm that we're getting snow flurries out there for our south bay and east bay hills and highest peaks and also the threat of pop-up thunderstorms. so not out of the woods just yet tracking some pretty active weather right now in the east bay near vallejo and even conquered in clayton. some walnut creek also tracking some moderate downpours. so a slight chance of pop-up thunderstorms with hail and lightning. if any cells do form. but as you can see, snow showers near mount hamilton in the south bay just south of san jose. we are tracking moderate rain there. so still seeing some light scattered showers throughout most of the bay area in the north bay and san francisco peninsula with some showers lingering off the coast expected to make its way inland overnight through around 4 o'clock monday morning

mount hamilton's reported more than three inches three and 38 100.y, mount hamilton's enjoying a little bit of snow this morning . a man um, almost five inches of rainfall there in the santa cruz mountains in the last 24 hours. this is a storm report across the state. over the last 24 hours. take a look at all those reports. the darker shade of blue icons are the wind damage areas and the lighter shade of blue typically flooding and trouble on the roadways with all that flooding. if i get in a little bit closer, you can see we've had multiple storm reports over the last 24 hours again. most of these are down power. trees are power trees. i won't say power lines down trees, reporting some roadway flooding there yesterday morning. and as we shift south over into boulder creek in the santa cruz mountains, a large tree down there blocking both lanes. so a lot of that going on yesterday here's a view of the future cast getting into the second part of the day. it's noontime, and we're still mainly dry. we do have the low off the coastline here in by 34 o'c
