let's go first to jerry who is in new hampshire. >> hello. do you think there is any way that it could be a compromise today, on abortion? with the taking of the government out of the situation be in any way helpful? >> a compromise on abortion would be very difficult. it would be almost as difficult as a compromise on slavery in the 1850s. because, aside from the other political aspects, it's a deeply moral issue. people hold moral opinions on the subject. morality is a really tough one to ask people to compromise on. if you believe a woman has a right to control her reproductive process then you don't want to give that up. on the other hand, if you believe in embryo and fetus is a human being, then, you will take the position that abortion is murder. it's very hard to find a compromise on those moral positions. the one thing i suppose that could come out of this is that there might be medications and procedures that will allow abortion to take place very early in a pregnancy, to the.where, a lot of people in the country are willing to consi

yes, here in new hampshire but across the board.ampshire is that he's not just a vermont senator. but unlike in 2016, he has a lot of other people trying to fill that same lane that he filled in 2016 by himself. and so, it's going to be interesting to see if bernie sanders can still come out with the same level of support. one of the things that makes he think he should feel good today is not just because of being here in new hampshire, a place that he won. but also a recent iowa poll that came out last night that shows he's looking good in that state, as well. he didn't win there in 2016. he made it close. that is something voters are keeping front of mind in iowa. and it's bernie sanders and joe biden at the top of the field. sanders must be feeling good. but joe biden is someone with a good lead. >> i don't know what they're called behind you. that event starting at 11:30. >>> chris, i want to start with you. more than half dozen democratic leader, act vis who endorsed the have the senator in 2016 said they were hesitant to do it

he's just at 1% of the iowa caucus, 0% in new hampshire. can he do is go up. >> nowhere to go but up when i look at those numbers. >> nowhere go but up. this is the problem when you have 14, 15 people potentially running many this thing, 16, 17, there's going to be some people at the bottom. but it's a wide open field, we'll see what happens but he starts off low. >> there was polling this weekend that got a lot of people's attention having to do with the president. what do you have there? >> the nbc "wall street journal" poll basically showed that the president was losing to a generic democratic candidate by 7 percentage points. look where his net approval rating, minus 6 percentage points. so these numbers watmatch up we indicating that they're seeing the went 20 elects as a referendum on the united states. how they feel about him is an indication of how they'll vote. >> i thought his recent polling was 41%. >> so it's approval minus disapproval. and the nbc poll was one of the better polls for the president. in some other polls that ran
