have seen several campus police officers walking around with those little twist tie-like plastic handcuffsrama, but they are prepared in case it might erupt again. here's a look at things yesterday. this is all part of the national day of action. protests at campuses nationwide. people upset about the increasing cost of a college education. so hundreds were here at uc- berkeley outside of wheeler hall. then they moved inside around 9:30 p.m. officers came in and warned them at 9:30 that the building would close in half hour. they stayed and then at 10:00, the officers came in and arrested the 17 people who refused to leave. most of them were cited and then released. but three who were also charged with resisting arest had to spend the night in -- with resisting arrest had to spend the night in jail and they will be in court this morning. >> anne makovec, thank you. >>> a search is under way for an inmate who escaped from a.m. alameda county jail. the 21-year-old was reported missing around 11:00 tuesday night from the santa rita jail. he was last seen five hours before that returning from
