ken langone and hank greenberg are both giants in the world of charity and they both had big concerns about the future of giving for those who have done well. they're joining me right now. good to see you. >> thank you for joining us. >> i want to ask you about your priorities away from business for a second because i see the langone medical center and the greenberg pavilion. you guys have given so much to medicine and to so many other causes, but i want it ask you what is your priority in terms of giving back. >> there are many people who are suffering and are underprivileged and i think helping people like that is important. not only the underprivileged and many can't leave their home. they're housebound so we support that cause. we support the hebrew home which takes in every denomination. we support education, and we have many kuzes that we support. healthcare obviously, has been a priority because it affects so many people. >> ken, what about you? >> medical and health care has been a big priority for you. >> maria, i'm sitting here this morning with you because i had the benefit

hank greenberg -- >> i think that there is a national interest here.the united states economy. there was a whole purpose when the sec was first formed. you would have one singular regulatory agency. now, you are suuject to the sec and 51 different ways of looking at things. that can make it very hard to do business in the united states. i can see a national interest. liz: i have a million questions. great to have you here. let's quickly go back to corzine for a minute. it is surprising that you would say it looks like it was politics that helped off charges for so long. it took years to look at some bear stearns hedge funds that were trading oddly. does it hold anything for you that john corzine will be probably charge with at least civil charges? >> it could be political either way. this may have been a case that never would have been brought. liz: it is happening. >> it is not much of a case. charlie: a failure to supervise. >> i am having a hard time remembering other failures to supervise. charlie: i wrote a story about not having the proper contro

but when it comes to friend or foe, obviously foe, hank greenberg, foe, corzine, not foe.the teeth of going after people that they choose or don't like, that's also a bit disturbing. back to you. >> rick, thanks so much. speaking of which, new york fed president bill dudley now answering some questions following that speech in new york. he says that market volatility notwithstanding, chairman bernanke was, quote, very clear last week in stating the outlook for fed policy and nothing bernanke said should have surprised investors and just to hop on rick's point. he also says he can't judge if the fed has taken a credibility hit, although i think rick could probably have an opinion on that as well as some guys in chicago. >> what's interesting as well is the extent to which what people are saying as they think through what's happened over the last couple weeks isn't necessarily whether the fed has take an credibility hit but whether they've delivered exactly what they intended to deliver. which is not something the fed has ever acknowledged. whats dudley and powell didn't say
