[ laughter ] i have strength beyond my years. [ laughter and applause ] i felt very insecure about that situation, so i added more weight, right. and then he lifted that too. off my chest. he saved my life. [ laughter and applause ] i'm extremely dyslexic. just so you know what that entails, when i was a kid, i couldn't read. i was terrible at sports, which is such a waste of an athletic frame. [ laughter ] yet, i was bizarrely confident. i used to call my first grade teacher sweetheart. he

. >>> i'm jim hanley following a bizarre incident in maryland. a deputy opened fire on a woman who rammed her truck into that deputy's patrol car. the sheriff's office tells us that the deputy's vehicle struck multiple times this afternoon at maryland route 261. that's just west of quail drive. take a look at this picture from the scene. investigators say the first impact of the first attack sent the cruiser to a fence. the truck hit the cruiser again sending the patrol car backwards down an embankment. the deputy fired shots through the windshield of the cruiser toward the woman and did not hit her. she then got out of her truck and took off. now, a bystander helped the deputy catch that woman. the investigation into this wild incident continues tonight. at the live desk i'm jim handily. >> thank you, jim. >>> one of the shooters at the incident of the art show on sunday in garland, texas, has been on the fbi radar for years. tonight, our sister station in dallas is reporting that elton simpson once planned to engage in a religious war. we're ge

on the live desk jim hanley. doreen back to you. >> thank you. the pan american center in new york city is under tight security hosting an awards ceremony for the "charlie hebdo" magazine. the french satirical magazine was targeted by islamic gunmen in an attack that killed 12 people. the killers objected to the depiction of the profit muhammad. security was stepped up even more after the shooting over the weekend in a contest that also featured cartoons of muhammad. >>> the terror group isis is claiming it was responsible for that shooting in texas. two gunmen were shot and killed after they opened fire outside a building hosting a cartoon contest. a contest was sponsored by an anti-islamist group. the gunmen were killed by an off-duty traffic officer who was working security. the white house said today it's too early to tell whether there is any truth to the claim made by isis but at least one of the dead attackers was a known islamic extremist. >>> the man charged in the kidnapping and killing of university of virginia student hanna graham is

we have team coverage tonight here in washington starting with news 4's jim hanley live at the live desk. >> reporter: from the images we're seeing right now this is a devastating scene outside of philadelphia. let's show you some live pictures now from above the derailment. the northeast regional was rounding a turn in this working class neighborhood and the neighborhood suddenly started to shake. eight to ten cars flew off the track and one seems to have broken apart. our sister station in philadelphia say at least 50 people are hurt. much of the information we're getting right now is from people who were actually on board the train. one of those is an nbc news producer. she's okay tonight. she says around 9:20 she heard a loud crash and people flew up in the air. she describes a lot of jerking back and forth and some smoke. several people have said that the derailment happened near a curve in the track. former pennsylvania congressman patrick murphy was also aboard that train. he describes lots of banged-up passengers including one guy who had passed out, one who was carted off on a s
