our washington correspondent hannah brandt live now with more on the president's visit and why it matters. thanks for joining us >> justine. hi. this is the first time we know of that. a sitting president has joined a strike and out there on the picket line. president biden made it really clear that he thinks these workers deserve more than they're getting. amid chance and cheering. >> president biden rally with striking auto workers in michigan. this is the 12th day. the auto workers strike against general motors, ford and stellantis as those companies rake in record profits. united auto workers union says workers aren't getting their fair share. incredibly the white house isn't taking a position on the union specific demands for a 40% pay raise and reduced hours saying only that car makers should negotiate in good faith with the workers. still, the head of the union called the president's show of support chose to stand up. >> in our fight for economic and social justice. but republican congressman dan mouser argue the president's visit is meaningless. a good photo-op for him. okay. and
