they took us to harden park. we didn't know what it was. it was this facility and it had lines and you can see where people stationed a hit and we said we like this. and one day we started hitting golf and they said do you want to do this every saturday. and we said "can we." they said we're going to pick you up and do that. and we said who else wanted to join. we started calling up our buddies and they sad, brother, we don't play golf. and now we're sitting at the table and going, remember when you didn't play golf. and now all of us play golf and they gave us food from this place. they gave us great turkey burgers and pick us saturday and we have a bunch of kids and it's hard to see us crammed in this space because we want to hit. we have to pick out of a hat who is going to play. it would be nice to have another place because when you look at jay mar he's our smallest guy. there's so many kid and you go, there's jay mar because there's a hole when you see everybody. it would be great to have a budget space. when we come together, i love

being familiar with the first teas experience operation both at hardening park and visitation valley, we saw it a good fit to enhance our activities at the site and managing the course for all golfers. so in february 12 the commission approved the selection and authorizes staff to negotiate a lease with the first t for the course. the management of the course. one of the pirs things that first t did was set up a separate foundation. the dpoelden gate park foundation who would be team managing the course. they did this to ensure separation between harden park and this course where they'll manage for all golfers not just for their youth participants and that's something we felt was important to us as a department. the least you may recall was actually first present the lease before you now was first presented to the operations committee in fall of last year. there was a question if the first t that will be installed at the course requires approval. the department over the last few months has gone to the planning department and obtained both see kwent approval to make sure we're complyin

the camp is on hardened flat road, not far from yosemite national park.the rim fire closed in, the popular camp did have to be evacuated. and then yesterday, flames spread to the camp and des snroid much -- destroyed much of the facility. the fire burned many of the beautiful trees that many people say make it such a magical place. it's very sad. it's a -- it's a very sad day for berkeley. very sad day for our community. we're all just really at a loss right now. a loss for words in many ways. now this morning, i've reached out to the camp directors but i've not heard back to try to understand the extent of the damage that was done there to the facility. people who have enjoyed the camp, camp tuolumne are promising to help rebuild the place, they build a strong bond with the camp. it does seem though it will be quite sometime before the camp is back to the way it was before. in the meantime a lot of bay area kids are missing out on what is a unique experience. >> we want to show you video of camera of a taker flying over the rim fire. now the plane -- you
