we have a new lease with the pga tour at harding park. we are working on a pro shop at the golden gate park tennis courts. and we are increasing concession revenue at union square through our relationship with cafe rule. pending initiatives include revitalizing the boat house at lake merced. we have an r.f.p. out for that. urban markets, the marina degauzing station, additional mobile food vendors, putting a lease into the mill rights cottage, implementing merchandise carts in our park, and also bringing a zip line to park property. the partnerships and resource development is also working very hard on philanthropy. both on the capital and then more importantly for this presentation on the operations side of the department. they've been very successful in finding people to support park operations. so adopt a park for speedway and marks meadow. endoug a gardener at crocker amazon. endoug joe lee rec center. we've had a successful fundraiser at the herps theater for camp du jour. we have been enormously successful in donations to our scholar

parking. i have a car for. my husband and i have two vehicles. it is very hard to find parking with the university, which is expanding as we speak. the parking is insane when students are in town and in school. the other concern is crime. i do not get any updates from parkmerced management, but i do get updates from the police department on crime in the area, and we do have escalating crime in the area. assault, robbery, occasionally sexual assault. you put another 30,000, how many widows are you going to attract? i have a father-in-law who live here for many years. he had concerns about firefighting then. he said that the fire fighting apparatus in san francisco will not reach past the 10th floor. i have seen what happens out here when there is a fire call. there are six or seven units that respond, and that is great, but you put 30,000 more people in this place, what is going to happen? that is scary to me. the other problem is traffic. you come around here it 6:30 in the afternoon and tried to get at 19th avenue for parkmerced boulevard, it is insane. i drive

parking lot. what do i mean that the neighbors are closed? the first public out reach of this meeting was less than six weeks ago. it is hard for me to believe that recreation and parks did not know about this issue for a year. my neighbors suggested several alternatives. we have not heard adequate responses to those alternatives. my neighbor has made a sunshine request and we have not received all of the documents. most importantly, my understanding is that a majority of our neighbors voted against extending the parking and that has been granted. what i know on my block is that 90% have worked against turning this into parking spaces. as you know, the exploratory and leases the buildings from all of you. that these does not require you to provide any parking for the export-oriented why should we sacrifice open space slots in order to provide parking that you are not legally required to provide? now let's get real for a minute. my comment is if you build it, they will come. yes, but not necessarily to go to the export-oriented. this is adjacent to richardson ave. many people drive on this every day. i think in a very short

received our second quarter park maintenance scores from the comptroller's office under proposition c, which i will talk about in a couple of minutes. another reflection of the hard work and commitment of our staff. our scores, which is a combination of staff evaluation from the comptroller's office and rec and parks, were at 94.81%, an all-time high. congratulations to our amazing staff. also at the six-month point, i want to share with you some exciting statistics about our new recreation model, which this commission supported in our last budget cycle. while we have had to do more with less, as we said in the budget process last year, and as we discussed in the development of our recreation model, which was done in partnership with seiu, we all felt we could build a better engine as it relates to public relations. the data has been very positive. in 2009, 2010, one year ago through six months, we have 14,005 london 39 people registered in our programs. after six months of this fiscal year, registration has increased to 15,158. after six months of last fiscal year, we had 20,336 hours of programming in the fall and winter seasons. this year, 31,775 hours. so we
