amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> amanda, thank you. now to some breaking news tonight. a months-long manhunt comes to a close. the alleged killer of 8 year-old sophia mason has been arrested. 34 year-old dhante jackson had outstanding murder and felony child abuse warrant out for his arrest and sophia's death. the child was reported missing from hayward earlier this year. sophia's body was found inside of a home anmer said back on march, 11th where jackson lived. jackson has been on the run since then. details have also emerged. jackson may have physically and sexually abused the child prior to her death. the co defendant and sophia's homicide as her mother, samantha johnson. she has already been arrested previously on murder and felony child abuse charges after sophia's body was found. to allay now where police are investigating the shooting death of a 23 year-old man. it happened around 6.30 yesterday evening on sonoma boulevard near nebraska street. police say the victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and he was later pronounced dead. the motive
