this harley had quite a history even after the war. during the war it was used both by the americans and the british, and after the war it was sold as surplus in england to fill in the british inventory at that time. it was purchased by a fellow who basically rode it as his transportation until the early 1950s. from there it went to another fellow who kept it, and then it came to the united states to a collector, and then we acquired it from that collector in 2006 and it became part of the exhibition here in the museum, and we really see harley davidson with basically the same appearance as it was in 1917 is a pretty incredible thing. the next thing we're going to see on exhibition is another vehicle that was used by the united states during the war, and it was a model 1918 ford ambulance. before the united states entered the war on april 6th, 1917, americans had been volunteering both to serve in humanitarian efforts and to help the war efforts, especially of the allied nations. american volunteers really went into action before ameri

shares of harley-davidson are really down sharply this morning.ycle maker's earnings beat the street but its shipment guidance is weak, and joining us now robin farley, analyst at ubs. is that too simplistic to talk about, would you say, robin, that baby boomer demographics are getting a little bit older they went from -- they delivered 262, 221 last year, 262,000 and they had said flat to down full year this year and now they're saying 241 to 246. that's not flat to down. that's actually down right? >> oh, yes, this is a much worse quarter than anyone expected they shipped within what they guided what matters was what they sold to people. that was down 9 mrs in the u.s this is the big spring selling season this is the quarter that matters most and they had a new engine which only happens every couple years with motorcycles that should have driven some core riders to replace their bikes, and the fact that sales came in down 9% this quarter, you know, the issue here is worse than just what it means for 2017 longer-term problems clearly flagging >>

harley davidson, this is a pretty interesting one.are down this year and investors are expecting the company to report about one , down from its estimates. this is on channel check suggesting that the retail segment is weaker hollered davidson -- week for harley davidson. kind of tying all these companies together, 25% of their operating profit does come from their financing unit. apparently the credit standards there have gone down. we happened to the bloomberg and take a look at g #btv four 590. there is a reason to think the shares move down more. 2014, aback to 2012 and pretty big move up for shares, but in this range of uncertainty. this is basically when the sellers overwhelmed the buyers and the 50 day moving average moved to love the 200 day moving average. more recently, we have had that big move up over the course of 2016, but this area of uncertainty, it may suggest that the risk identified by compass point financial as the financing arm of harley davidson could come into play. one salesperson told me that it is the equival
